Metals

What?

This is a metal [Tins & Cans]

Where?

These should be placed in the household recycling bin or returned to participating outlets of the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS).

How?

Food tins are not subject to the DRS and should be placed in household recycling bins – clean, dry and loose.
Labels can be left on.
Metal lids and caps can also be placed in the household recycling bin.

Drinks cans with the Re-turn logo on them should be returned to participating retailers through the Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) or manually with a store assistant at a till. To do this, place your empty and undamaged drinks can in the RVM as instructed and when finished you will be issued with a voucher for use in-store.
If done manually, the store assistant will check your can for the Re-turn logo and issue you with a voucher for use in-store.

General Comment / Tip

For more information about the DRS, visit https://re-turn.ie/ .

Vouchers from the DRS can only be used in the store at which they were produced but cans and drinks bottles can be returned at any participating retailer regardless of where they were purchased.
