What
Deli and pastry bags made of paper, often with plastic windows.
Where
Household recycling bin – if clean and free from food or oil stains.
How
Remove the plastic window from the paper portion and, if clean, place both the paper and plastic in your household recycling bin.
If the plastic is contaminated with food residue it can be cleaned before going in the recycling bin. Alternatively it should be placed in the general waste bin.
If the paper is contaminated with food residue, it should be placed in the general waste bin.
General Comment / Tip
Deli paper for wrapping up freshly made sandwiches often has a waxy finish so can’t be recycled or composted and wrappers for hot sandwiches or wedges have a foil lining so are also unrecyclable.
