When lithium-ion batteries and lithium-ion battery powered electrical items, including vapes, power-banks and e-scooter batteries, are incorrectly disposed of in household bins, they can get crushed or damaged during waste processing, sparking fires in bin trucks and waste management sites.

All household electrical and electronic products, appliances and devices, and batteries of all types contain precious materials such as aluminium, copper, cobalt and lithium that can be recovered through recycling, for use again – protecting the environment and supporting a circular economy.

Anything with plug, battery or cable can be recycled for free, at thousands of drop off points around the country.
